Using part of a $474,000 NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund, a 2.5 kilometre stretch of sensor lights was decided upon to increase accessibility hours. Being one of the best walkways in town the community was thrilled to see the upgrades move ahead. The introduction of a off-grid solar-powered street lights system is a great initiative by the SMRC that is much more sustainable and cost-effective compared to conventional electric lighting. This project was delivered nearly three weeks ahead of schedule and with minimal disruption to pathway users during construction works.

This project has provided pedestrians an accessible and safe walkway. The increased lighting is a very welcome addition to this popular walkway and I know locals are feeling safer when walking along the path at night.
