In 2005, Leadsun had the vision to revolutionise the public lighting industry by bringing together four emerging technologies – solar PV, LED light, lithium batteries and adaptive lighting controls – into one compact and modular solar lighting system. After extensive research, development and testing, in 2008, Leadsun went on to create the world’s first all-in-one solar light.

We’ve since gone on to distribute more than 300,000 lighting systems across Australia and the world and provided local authorities solutions and guidance they can depend on. The Leadsun brand represents a catalyst for change and confidence in the future. We are bringing SMART public lighting into all Australian municipalities –easily, affordably and efficiently.

The company now has representation in all states. Leadsun Managing Director Matt Pollard is part of a select team that works regularly with the Lighting Council of Australia setting the standards of solar light solutions in Australia. Lighting Council Australia is the peak body for the lighting industry in Australia and their goal is to encourage the use of environmentally appropriate, energy-efficient, quality lighting systems.
